Job Summary

This position will assist in our day-to-day normal operations that take place throughout the year.

Essential DutiesResponsible for performing daily office tasks such as filing, scanning, data entry, recording, maintaining records, copying, posting and other similar duties, using a computer terminal and limited word processing.Will be required to assist with any day-to-day operations specific to the Social Work Program, and its faculty.Follows organization and department procedures to complete tasks in a timely manner, and other duties as assigned.Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.Works under immediate supervision. Typically reports to supervisor.Required Qualifications

MWSU StudentDegree SeekingAt least an overall 2.0 GPAEnrolled at least part-timeMust qualify for Federal Work StudyPreferred Qualifications

Good computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office (especially Microsoft Word & Excel).Knowledge of Microsoft Publisher and Adobe Acrobat is an added plus.Ability to type 25 -30 wpm.Ability to run on-campus errands.Would prefer someone who is a self-starter.Extra skills beyond those listed here (computer and otherwise) are a plus.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

A command of the English language, as the student will be required to handle correspondence, data processing and answer telephones in a professional manner, as well as work extensively with student files.Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures within the department.Student will need to be able to work independently.Student must possess ability to work well with MWSU students, faculty and staff.

Physical DemandsSedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
