Howard Community College's Division of Continuing Education and Workforce Development

is seeking a creative communications professional to provide copywriting, editing, research, and planning support and aid in marketing projects.

Reporting to the Continuing Education Marketing Manager , the successful candidate must have strong writing, editing, and data analysis skills as well as the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced office environment. This role requires experience in crafting print and digital communications; phenomenal proofreading and editing skills; as well as a passion for producing engaging and relevant print, web, and social media content.Work Performed

Under the supervision and direction of the marketing manager:Serves as the copywriter for the division's marketing communications including publications, direct mail pieces, postcards, direct marketing emails, e-newsletters, fliers, and success stories.Write clear marketing copy that informs, persuades, and promotes the division's programs.Assist with editing and proofreading materials to best communicate information, tell stories, and market the division and its offerings.Assist with CEWD webpage edits and copywriting as needed.Assist with the publication of division-wide courses to the college's website.Ensure consistency (style, fonts, images, and tone) in marketing materials to align with the college's style guide.Assist with developing social media content.The ability to multi-task/switch between duties and adhere to deadlines quickly are crucial for this position.Minimum Education Required
