Posting Summary:

Rutgers University-Newark (RU-N), an urban public research university and anchor institution, located in Newark, New Jersey, is seeking an Associate Director SPVR. Reporting to the Executive Director of CWIB, this position will be responsible for the ongoing operations, general oversight, and day-to-day administration of the various functions of CWIB, including directly managing a full-time staff member.

This position is responsible for and not limited to the following:Work cooperatively with the post-doctoral research associate who oversees the research agenda.Provide leadership and ensure all CWIB activities, research, programming, and development are completed in an effective and cost-efficient manner.Oversee programming, including all mentoring, and in-person and virtual events.Manage substantial financial resources, as well as coordinate the work efforts of staff, interns, affiliated faculty, and a wide variety of external partners and vendors.Oversee creating and maintaining the organizational and financial sustainability of CWIB, including stewarding relationships with potential donors (individual, corporate, other).Work with the Executive Director to develop the strategic vision for CWIB to scale and execute the mission of CWIB, which is to remove barriers within the business community and empower women.

Work Arrangement:

Consistent with the current application of Rutgers Policy 60.3.22, this position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement. The flexible work arrangements outlined in Rutgers Policy 60.3.22 are part of a pilot program that is effective September 1, 2022, through August 31, 2024. Therefore, there is no guarantee that this flexible work arrangement will continue beyond that date. Flexible work arrangements are not permanent, are subject to change or cancellation and contingent on the employee receiving approval in the FlexWork@RU Application System. Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience:

Requires a bachelor's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience, plus a minimum of five years of relevant experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Requires 3 years of experience in a position of senior leadership in for-profit, non-profit, or higher education, with increasing responsibility for strategic planning, program development, sales or fundraising, and staff development.Must possess strong leadership skills, consensus-building style of decision-making, interpersonal skills, presentation and communication skills, sales and development skills, and fiscal management responsibilities.Must be able to work with faculty staff and students at all levels within the university and with executive-level constituents.

Preferred Qualifications:Preferred combined experience of non-profit or academic institution combined with for-profit.

Equipment Utilized:Microsoft Office Suite, standard PC systems, and Rutgers proprietary systems.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:Must be willing and physically capable of traveling between campuses (Newark, NJ and New Brunswick, NJ) for administration, meetings, and events regularly and across the state and country for meetings, events, conferences, and fundraising.
