BareBones Productions is seeking to hire a Music Co-Director for the

2024 Halloween Extravaganza

who will work individually and collaboratively with a fellow Music Co-Director, performance Co-Directors, artistic/production staff, and community members from end of August, through September and October, and into the beginning of November 2024. The Music Co-Director will work with these communities to create a public performance/ritual related to grief, death, ancestors, loss, and remembering, to be performed over 4 nights. Performances will be located in Powderhorn Park at 3400 15th Avenue South.Qualifications or Requirements

Strong instrumental and vocal music direction skillsConnection with local musicians and ability to recruit instrumental and/or vocal music volunteersWillingness to learn, self-reflect, and grow in the areas of equity, inclusion, and anti-biasAdaptability, flexibility, and strong communication, organization, and time-management skillsMust Work/Attend

BareBones Buildup 2024

(paid orientation) August 20 5-7:30 Collaborate with the 2024 Team to create protocols to address interpersonal dynamics, safety, workload fairness, communication, & organizationArtistic staff Storyboarding and Community StoryboardingTwice weekly music rehearsals beginning mid-September 2024Full cast rehearsals and additional meetings as scheduled by the Co-Directors, Artistic Team, and Production Team, per protocols developed at

BareBones Buildup 2024Four performances, to be held on October 31, November 1, 2, and 3, 2024. The rain date will be November 4, if a performance is canceled due to the weatherFour educational workshops provided to the community by BareBones BoardResponsibilities Include

Collaborate with Co-Directors, Artistic team and volunteers to create a plan for incorporating music into a 45-60 minute performance which includes puppetry, music, fire, and stiltingCreate original music/ soundscapes in collaboration with staff/volunteer artistsRecruit and organize volunteer musiciansOrganize and direct meetings and rehearsals for musiciansSupport participating community members to grow as musicians/performers and expand their artistic confidence and skill setsManage communication between musicians and artistic/production staffDirect music/manage needs of musicians during 3-4 performances (between October 27-31)Prioritize the physical and emotional safety of every participantParticipate in digital communication (email, text, phone) promptlyParticipate in a variety of clean-up activities and final wrap-up survey after November 4, 2024As this is a temporary, independent contractor position, candidates are required to have access to materials and technologies necessary for the jobTerms
