Mid-Size Chicago law firm seeking a Legal Billing Coordinator to join our team. This is a full-time (remote or hybrid) position that offers a competitive salary and outstanding benefits. Along with your resume and cover letter, please send your salary requirements.Job Description:This position requires attention to detail, precision in invoice and billing drafting, and an ability to create detailed reports timely. Candidates must be capable of independent work, possess excellent organizational and time management abilities, the ability to multi-task, and work in an efficient manner. Candidates must also be ready to provide immediate support to all employees in the department.Essential Functions:Provide support to billing and accounting team.Make new matters and clients billable under specific billing guidelines.Organize and enter attorney travel expenses into billing system.Enter client costs into billing system.Match expenses.Organize expenses and invoices to be mailed to respective clients/insurance companies.Print/run and distribute drafts.Make necessary edits provided from bill reviewers.Specific E-billing functions to include (but not limited to):Setup E-billing matters accordingly to their respective websites (not limited to mapping matters or timekeeper/rate approvals)Edit LEDES format as necessary (i.e., client case or claim number)Submit invoices in a timely manner; verify compliance and acceptance of E-billsProvide continuous information to billing manager to assist with management of invoice rejections, adjustments, and appeals.The above list of duties and responsibilities is in no way a comprehensive list. Job Requirements:Bachelor’s Degree required in accounting or similar industry.Previous law firm experience (legal billing preferred) and insurance defense firm experience.Advanced computer experience, including proficiency in Microsoft Office products and enhanced knowledge of Excel.Ability to manage multiple tasks while meeting daily, weekly, and monthly deadlines.Ability to maintain work focus in a fast-paced environment.Ability to embrace change and be solutions-oriented.Candidate should be highly motivated, detail-oriented, and possess the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Candidate should also have strong organizational, written, and oral communication skills.Candidate must be focused on creating amazing client experiences and customer service.
