You communicate clearly, and hold yourself and your team to a high bar.As a Software Development Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring your team successfully delivers on design, development, testing, and the operations of systems your team owns. You should have an established track record of launching customer-facing experiences, deep technical ability, and excellent project management and communication skills. This role requires working closely with product management and UX to define strategy and requirements, and leading a development team from design through delivery and subsequent operation. This position will also require regular communication with senior management on status, risks, and strategy.The ideal candidate is deeply technical, resourceful, customer-focused and team oriented, with clear communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with key stakeholders. You can successfully influence partner teams and influence architecture decisions that impact multiple businesses. You have a proven track record of taking on end-to-end ownership and successfully delivering results in a fast-paced and dynamic business environment.3+ years of engineering team management experience7+ years of engineering experience8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experienceKnowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operationsExperience partnering with product or program management teamsExperience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategyExperience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineersAmazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
