$40-45/hr

Our client, a well-known and reputable Non-Profit, is looking to add a Payroll Accountant to their team. They are looking for someone who can handle all aspects of Payroll with a focus on reconciliation and preparing payroll journal entries.

Please note, this is a true contract to hire, but will convert permanently in 6 months-1 year.

Requirements

5+ years of Payroll reconciliation experience

5+ years of experience posting timecards to the General Ledger

Experience processing Payroll for 200+ employees

MUST be able to pass credit, criminal and employment verification check

Accounting Knowledge Required:

Review, examine and reconcile accounting transactions

Determine that documentation is adequate to support executing payment requests

Determine that transactions are properly coded for entry into the general ledger

Payroll Expertise

Minimum of two years of payroll processing experience required

Thorough and current knowledge of payroll, automated payroll systems, and the legal and regulatory environment affecting payroll

Strong customer service orientation and demonstrated reliance on confidentiality

Responsibilities

Payroll:

Administers payroll for federal and donated employees.

Payroll system and database maintenance:

The Payroll Administrator maintains time-reporting for federal (Kronos) and donated (UltiPro) employees. Coordinates with Human Resources and payroll providers to ensure the accuracy and completeness of employee pay data.

Payroll processing:

Processes two bi-weekly payrolls and ensures that all employees are paid promptly and accurately.

Payroll problem resolution:

Identifies and resolves all payroll and payroll-related issues.

Payroll accounting and reporting:

Prepares payroll journal entries, including month-end, quarter-end, and year-end accruals.

Reviews Quarterly Processor reports:

Coordinates final W-2/W-3 production.

Understands imputed costs, FECA and unemployment:

Coordinates with HR and monitors with Federal agencies.

Reporting:

Prepares financial reports, statements and analyses as directed.

Policies and procedures:

Maintains current and complete documentation of policies and procedures relating to payroll.
