The
Allegheny Intermediate Unit
is seeking an
Application Support Specilaist
for its Technology Department at the Central Office located in Homestead. The Application Support Specialist is a member of Technology Services Department and is responsible for maintaining and designing data systems that support the student and client data operations, data analytics and strategic decision-making practices of the AIU and its partner organizations. The Application Support Specialist is responsible for meeting expectations regarding performance, meeting deadlines, defined metrics/benchmarks, and ensuring standards and processes are followed to provide effective and efficient customer service.
Responsibilities:
1. Member of the Technology Services Change Advisory Board.
a. Initiates requests for change to the Technology Ecosystem based on organizational need.
b. Analyzes risk, financial implications and scope of requested changes.
c. Provides input on change schedule and liaises with impacted parties.
d. Updates change log with progress, including actions to correct problems and/or take opportunities to improve service quality.
2. Supports all student/client data operations including Student Information System data and application management and development.
3. Empowered to make decisions for complex cases with updates to supervisor and determines priorities and defines what should be done and how to do it to achieve broadly defined assignments in line with the Department work-plan, performance standards, and possible effects to the Technology Services Department, District, or stakeholders outside the District.
Qualifications:
1.
Associate degree in technology or business required. Bachelor's Degree in a technology or business-related field preferred.
2. Minimum three (3) years of experience in student information system software application support and/or relational database development/administration preferred
3. Demonstrated relational database technology experience
4. Demonstrated application programming interface (API) experience
5. Demonstrated exceptional customer service
