Position Summary:

This position is responsible for assisting the track program with the recruitment and retention of student-athletes while working to ensure the best student experience possible for the members of the Benedictine University Track Program.Essential Job Responsibilities:Assist the track program with the identification and successful recruitment of qualified student-athletes to help place the program in a position of competitive leadership in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference.Responsible for coaching and mentoring student-athletes as well as assisting with film breakdown, developing and implementing scouting reports, game and practice plans, and coaching in all traditional and non-traditional segments that will place the program in a position of competitive leadership in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference.Responsible for assisting the head coach, program, and university personnel with the retention of student-athletes. This includes social and academic support, meeting regularly with the members of your assigned position group to monitor their academic progress to ensure players are investing the time and effort required to be successful in the classroom.Provide instruction in technique and safety procedures in adherence with NCAA regulations and Sports Performance expectations in the declared playing and practice seasons.Other Functions:Develop relationships within Benedictine University and the University community.Attend departmental and University related meetings and events.Maintain a positive student athlete assessment for program from student athletes.Work in coordination with University offices and departments to coordinate and facilitate University events.Maintain positive relationships with alumni, parents, students, officials, volunteers, and fans.Serve on University, conference, and national committees as needed.Positively promote Benedictine University and the Department of Athletics on campus and in the community.Required Qualifications:Education:

Bachelor's Degree RequiredExperience:

Coaching or playing experience and extensive knowledge of the sport at the collegiate level preferred.Qualifications:

Applicant must obtain acceptance into a Benedictine Graduate program of Master of Business Administration, Master of Science in Business Analytics, Master of Science in Management & Organizational Behavior, or Master of Public Health.Specific Skills:

Organizational skills, writing and typing skills, interpersonal skills, data entry and budget management skills, and demonstrated supervisory skills.Specific Knowledge, Licenses, Certifications:

Valid driver’s license; CPR/First Aid/AED certification.Physical Requirements:

Ability to handle varying levels of stress while maintaining a professional demeanor. Possible lifting, bending, walking, kneeling, stretching, and stooping. Frequent district-wide and statewide travel; frequent prolonged and irregular hours; outdoor exposure to sun/heat or cold weather. Ability to speak clearly so listeners can understand. Understand the speech of another person. See details of objects that are less than a few feet away or are more than a few feet away. Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
