Actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, work experience, skill level, and education.The Interventional Radiology Technologist I works in collaboration with the technical supervisor and medical director to provide high quality routine/general diagnostic special procedures and interventional studies. The technologist provides education to the patient/family about these procedures, as well as pre/post procedure instructions as applicable. The technologist efficiently and accurately documents all procedures, patient related events, and equipment issues. Call responsibility is required. Performs other duties as assigned. All Interventional Technologists project an image of professionalism in communication, appearance and conduct and support the Radiology Department mission. They participate in the continuous quality improvement process while maintaining a working knowledge and following all departmental and organizational policies and procedures. This knowledge may include the use of specialized instrumentation and quality control requirements, as well as specific regulatory requirements of Title 22, California Licensing & Certification of Health Facilities and Title 17, California Radiation Control Regulations. Performs other duties as assigned that do not violate laws or regulations that require personnel with special licensure.Education and ExperienceAll departments: Associates Degree or higher. Graduate of an ARRT approved Radiologic Technology program.For Interventional Radiology department only: one year of previous continuous hospital experience in special procedures or equivalent is required but department may cross train for advancement within the organization. Completes two (2) units of mandatory stroke specific training/education annually as required.For Cardiology departments only: previous cardiac, endovascular or electrophysiology experience preferred.License RequiredCalifornia State Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) License (CRTXR) and Fluoroscopy License (CRTFL).Certifications RequiredAHA BLS certification (BLS).American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) Radiology certification (RTR).Certifications PreferredInterventional Radiology department only: ARRT post-primary certification in Vascular Interventional (VI) Radiography (RTVI).Cardiology departments only: ARRT post-primary certification in CV Interventional, Cardiac Interventional (RTCV).Hoag is an Equal Opportunity Employer and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any kind.
