Government, OtherSalary Range:A Cultural Resources Specialist (Professional Contributor II) position is available with the Center for Environmental Management of Military Lands (CEMML) to provide on-site program support for Commander, Navy Region Hawaii. This position will be duty-stationed at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam (JBPHH) on the Island of Oahu. Relocation expenses are available; conditions apply.The Cultural Resources Specialist is expected to function as part of a team that supports Navy Region Hawaii’s (CNRH) cultural resources management and compliance tasks. The position requires a combination of office and field activities to assess potential effects of proposed undertakings. This position requires excellent interpersonal skills, collaboration, flexibility, and diplomacy. The Cultural Resources Specialist will provide cultural resource management and evaluation technical support, review and assess impacts on archaeological sites and historic properties, and coordinate with project proponents and managers.Primary Duties:Assist Navy Region Hawaii by performing background and archival research.Assess potential effects of proposed undertakings.Review and/or prepare reports, NRHP eligibility evaluations, and site forms.Assist in the development of mitigation and/or treatment plans.Must be able to communicate and interact with internal/external staff, Navy officials, seamen, airmen, and the public in a professional manner. Work requires a high degree of independent judgment/decision making, technical writing and organizational skills, attention to detail, and people skills.The successful candidate must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. by the proposed start date; CEMML will not provide visa sponsorship for this position.
