PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under general direction of General Manager, Hawaii Sales Development Division oversees the overall planning, purchasing, setup, and dissemination of information for all related B2B and B2C sales products. In the Sales Development Department, we work closely with the manager to monitor team progress and workflow, aiming to optimize operational efficiency and economy while maximizing profits. The Digital Solutions Department is responsible for the operation, maintenance, promotion, and marketing of the company's website.
Essential Functions:
Merge the initiatives of the Sales Development Department staff with those of the Digital Solutions Department staff, and lead them to enhance the effectiveness of both efforts.
Remove obstacles that arise from collaboration to enable the Sales Development Department staff and the Digital Solutions Department staff to work together more effectively.
Merge the strategies set by the Sales Development Department Manager with those set by the Digital Solutions Department Manager, and lead them to ensure that both initiatives are more effective.
Work as a substitute for either the Sales Development Department Manager or the Digital Solutions Department Manager in their absence.
Improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the Sales Development department and determine new procedures when necessary.
Establish staffing plans and hiring requests, interview and handle hiring decisions with each department manager.
Secondary Functions:
Assist other departments or sections during peak periods as required.
Help to cover in the absence of staff.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
Possess five (5) to seven (7) years work experience in travel/hospitality and tour planning industry or in the advertising industry.
Possess at least five (5) years of managerial and supervisory experience.
Able to professionally and effectively communicate with employees, business partners, and clients in English and Japanese (written and verbal).
Possess knowledge of Hawaii’s tourism infrastructure, tour arrangement, optional tours, basic business concepts and procedures, reservations concepts and procedures, billing and invoice verification procedures, and Japanese culture and customs.
Able to plan, organize, and coordinate a wide variety of work efficiently, set priorities, and motivate staff.
Able to work independently and cooperatively with all employees, business partners, and customers in a professional and positive manner.
Possess working knowledge and skills of basic computer systems and software, application programs, software programs, e-mail, and standard office equipment.
Possess valid Hawaii driver’s license with clean abstract.
Working Conditions:
Working Hours:
Normal business hours: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, including holidays and weekends as deemed necessary.
Air-conditioned office or remote workplace.
May work in large, open room with approximately 50 to 60 employees and multiple computer consoles.
Travel to various locations outside of the office, including occasional overnight travel out of Hawaii, where weather conditions may vary, including but not limited to noise, dust, fumes and vehicle exhaust.
