Queen's Health Systems Inc., Honolulu, Hawaii, United States, 96814

Clinical Cardiologist - Structural Imaging SpecialistThe Queen's Medical Center Department of Cardiology seeks a Board certified or Board eligible cardiologist to join its growing general cardiology and structural imaging group.

The candidate should have an interest in clinical cardiology and preferably maintain expertise in at least one noninvasive area including: structural imaging, nuclear cardiology, vascular interpretation, cardiopulmonary exercise testing, cardiac rehabilitation, or transesophageal echocardiography (TEE). Individuals interested in the structural imaging position should also maintain COCATS level III certification in echo and be proficient with imaging related to guidance of typical interventional procedures.

The Queen’s cardiology group, Queen’s Heart Institute, supports over 500 acute care beds within the largest healthcare system in Hawaii. Our Structural Heart Team is the first and only program in the state to garner the American College of Cardiology transcatheter valve certification, offering the full spectrum of procedures, including percutaneous valve repair and replacement, left atrial appendage occluder placement, paravalvular leak closure, alternative access TAVR, and PFO repair. The full-time structural imaging position involves facilitating the structural and interventional procedures via TEE guidance. Structural imagers are also involved in acute patient management during multidisciplinary conferences dedicated to high level decision making related to structural heart interventions. The program is well supported by a team of valve clinic coordinators, advance practice nurses, and physician practice assistants.

The Queen’s University Medical Group is affiliated with the University of Hawaii John A Burns School of Medicine, serving as the primary site for medical students, internal medicine residents and cardiology fellows. This affords employed cardiologists a faculty appointment appropriate to their experience, and additional teaching and research opportunities.
