Position Summary

This recruitment will be used to fill five part-time (a maximum of 20 hours per week) Student Clerical positions for the Department of ESE- School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Oregon State University (OSU). The office is open Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm, closing from lunch between 12 and 1 pm. You will be required to submit the available hours you can work between that time.

OSU School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science is looking for students to work at the front reception desk answering questions either over the phone or in person for a high-volume school. Working in a team environment comprised of other students and full-time staff. Great communication and interpersonal skills are a must. Looking for students with data entry skills, experience using Microsoft Office software, good organizational skills, and very detailed oriented. Students assist with EECS events, cleaning conference rooms, stocking supplies, and general office work. Occasional lifting may be required with the moving of office furniture up to 25 lbs. Performs general office work such as copying, filing, sorting and scanning.

Position Duties

50%Greeting customers at the EECS front reception deskanswering questions either over the phone or in personChecking in students for advising appointments and scheduling students for advising appointmentsClerical work such as scanning, copying, updating spreadsheets, and other EECS documents. Opening and closing the EECS main office spaceDistributing mail and packages; ordering office supplies as directed by the office manager; and general office work.40%

Assisting with EECS eventscleaning conference rooms, atrium, removing recyclable cardboard, scheduling conference rooms, and granting key card access to KEC as directed by the office managerScanning of student-related documents into On-Base system.10%
