School Aftercare Site Leader

We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a School Aftercare Site Leader. Our before and after school program, Dolphin Station, takes place offsite from the District at a D53 school. This position is responsible for creating a safe and engaging environment for children after school. The Dolphin Station Site Leader will implement structured lesson plans and ensure the overall satisfaction and well-being of program participants. Typical hours for this position are Monday-Friday from 3:00-6:15pm.

Please note the minimum age for this position is 18 years old.

Essential Job Duties

Attend training programs required for the positionImplement daily activities for students in grades kindergarten through fifth grade planned by the Site SupervisorTake attendance twice dailyBe aware of any allergies of participants and how to treat themKeep track of all participants as they rotate through the different areas during the programMake sure all participants are signed in and signed out by the appropriate parent/guardian each dayCommunicate with participant's parents and other staff in a professional and effective manner on a daily basisDistribute snacks to participantsParticipate in all activities with participantsOther duties as assigned by Dolphin Station Site Supervisor, Recreation Manager, Superintendent of Recreation or Executive DirectorEnsure the safety and satisfaction of program participantsEnsure all equipment and supplies are in good working condition and kept in a neat and orderly fashionProvide direction to program participantsAdminister the program in accordance with the adopted guidelines, policies, and procedures set forth by the DistrictEvaluate program content and relays pertinent information to immediate supervisorRegularly communicate with parents and studentsFocus on welcoming diversity, encouraging inclusion and creating equity for all.Support the District's safety initiative including adhering to policies and procedures, performing your job in a safe manner, attending required training, seeking additional training as needed, promptly reporting accidents/incidents, and proactively addressing hazards in the workplace.Skills and Qualifications

Minimum age of 18 years old requiredMinimum of one year in a supervisory setting with childrenCPR/AED and First Aid certificationValid Illinois Driver's License (Class D)Ability to obtain Training for Mandated Reporters within 30 days of hire
