As an administrative professional with us, you'll play a pivotal role in supporting our efforts to provide essential services like food, clothing, and vital support to those in need. Job SummaryThis position works closely with the Volunteer Manager and several departments within our organization to coordinate, schedule, train, and supervise volunteers. This is a very active and high communication position, working alongside many volunteers in our grocery and clothing bank operation. In addition to general volunteer coordination duties, we seek a Bilingual Spanish/English speaker to work closely with our Programs Service Manager to create and support a new program for Spanish-speaking individual volunteers and small groups of Spanish-speaking volunteers. RequirementsDuties/Responsibilities Spanish-speaking volunteers and create a new Spanish-speaking volunteer program. Support the Volunteer Manager to develop onboarding processes, volunteer training, and volunteer appreciation events in English and Spanish.Daily activities are expected to be a mix of office duties and hands-on support of daily operations in our food pantry and clothing bank. Work closely with the Volunteer Manager to create ongoing individual volunteer schedules and ensure volunteer work shifts are sufficiently filled. Responsible for general email and phone communication with individual and group volunteers regarding schedule adjustments and general questions.Effectively supervise and engage individuals from across a wide spectrum of ages, experience, skill levels, and capacities, including volunteers, donors, staff, and community membersBuild positive, trusting relationships with all volunteers.Ensure volunteers are trained on each position they are assigned, including safety procedures.Supervise volunteers to efficiently develop and carry out activities of the program, including providing feedback as needed.Occasional Saturdays or evenings may be required to lead group volunteer efforts or support special events.Other duties as assignedKnowledge, Skills, & Abilities2 years of work relevant experience. Volunteer supervision preferredExcellent organizational skills with strong attention to detailAbility to train individuals of all ages and experience levelsAbility to build relationships with Spanish-speaking community membersExceptional written and verbal communication skills in both English and SpanishDemonstrate flexibility and adaptability to a wide range of daily work dutiesDemonstrated ability to engage volunteers in the mission of an organization Ability to function as a cooperative and effective team playerStrong office computer skills required for MS Office, databases, email, and internetSUPERVISORYThis position supervises hundreds of individual volunteers and leads small-group volunteer activitiesPERSONAL CONTACTS AND PURPOSEWorks with a wide variety of community members, staff, volunteers, vendors, donors, board of directors, community leaders, governmental agencies, and other stakeholders to ensure the operational interests of the agency are managed well and protected. PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe work involves a high level of physical activity in the performance of tasks in our food pantry and clothing bank including: Bend and lift products weighing up to 15 lbs. continuously, 25 lbs. frequently, and 40 lbs. on occasionStand on your feet and walk for 4 hoursFrequent reaching and grasping at waist level: occasionally above shoulder or below waist levelPerform repetitive hand and arm motionsOffice and computer work requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards.WORK ENVIRONMENTWork is performed in an office environment as well as public-facing and operational support areas of our food pantry and clothing bank. May occasionally be leading volunteers in our warehouse or be required to attend an event at an offsite location, for which personal transportation will be required.
