Job Details:

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Permanent Project Accountant with a strong focus on Work in Progress (WIP) and Percentage Completion Accounting. This role is critical to the success of our engineering projects, as you will be responsible for the financial management and monitoring of multiple projects, ensuring their financial health and profitability. You will be working closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders, providing them with accurate and timely financial information, and supporting them in their decision-making process. Responsibilities:

1. Manage and monitor the financial performance of multiple engineering projects, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
2. Conduct Work in Progress (WIP) and Percentage Completion Accounting, ensuring the accurate and timely recognition of revenue and costs.
3. Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders, providing them with accurate and timely financial information, and supporting them in their decision-making process.
4. Identify and analyze variances between actuals and budget/forecast, and provide insightful commentary on the causes and potential implications.
5. Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and company policies.
6. Participate in the continuous improvement of project accounting processes and systems, identifying opportunities for efficiency and effectiveness gains.
7. Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and support as required.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in project accounting, preferably in the engineering or construction industry.
3. Proven experience with Work in Progress (WIP) and Percentage Completion Accounting.
4. Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting, and their application in a project-based environment.
5. Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide meaningful insights.
6. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders.
7. Proficient in the use of accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
8. Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, and meet tight deadlines.
9. Self-motivated, with a strong work ethic and a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
10. Professional accounting designation (CPA, CMA, CGA or equivalent) is desirable but not mandatory.
