We became an employee-owned company in 1990 and still are today, sharing profits with our employees through our Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP).DAVIS is seeking an Estimating Manager responsible for assisting the estimating teams in pursuing work through competitive bid responses.Here’s what you get to do:Collaborate with Project teams to assist with competitive bid proposalsLead a competitive bid teamWrite scopes and develop qualificationsSolicit and review bids from trade partners and material suppliersAnalyze submitted responses to identify missing scope, listed qualifications, noted exclusions and work to compare equivalent bid submissionsSecure sufficient trade partner coverage by effective communication and managementOpportunity to perform quantity take off for a variety of building components and systemsBe part of a team environment and set the tone to impact the project and the greater good of the DAVIS culture and success for allYear-round opportunities for networking and volunteering in the communities we work inGrow trade partner relationships opportunities; actively builds relationships and encourages others to do the sameHere’s who you are: (required)Experience in competitive bidding5+ years’ experience in estimating or preconstruction for commercial construction in a variety of market sectorsPlan reading experienceQuantity Take-off software experience (On Screen Take-off or Sketch-up preferred)Strong communicator, both verbal and written, with ability to interact effectively at all levels within the organizationHere’s what we love for you to have: (preferences)Experience presenting pricing information to clientsStrong understanding of local (DC metropolitan area) pricingAbility to build strong relationships with local trade partnersPDF editor software experience (Brava or Bluebeam preferred)Bachelor’s degree or related experienceCertification by the American Society of Professional Estimators (ASPE) Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) programFOR ALL EMPLOYEES, WE VALUE THE FOLLOWING ATTRIBUTES:Safety
