It’s an exciting time at the Shire, and if you want to be part of that energy then we have the opportunity for you.About the RoleAs a Strategic Planner, you will be responsible for working as part of a multi-disciplinary team to manage a range of important planning applications and projects. These include structure plans, Scheme amendment requests, local development plan assessment, subdivision application referral responses and processing requests for subdivision clearances.You will also use your skills and knowledge to collaborate across our organisation, assisting in the successful delivery of sustainable strategic land development projects. You will gain a broad range of land use planning experience in a high growth local government and work on a number of diverse planning applications and projects.Some of your core functions include:Assess strategic land use planning applications including scheme amendments, structure plans, local development plans, subdivisions and clearances.Apply relevant legislation and the State and local planning framework, in assisting residents, stakeholders and community organisations on strategic planning matters.Undertake land use planning policy review and development to guide future growth.Participate in the development of strategic council projects, including project management, stakeholder engagement and urban design.About YouWe are looking for an enthusiastic Strategic Planner with strong communication skills who can liaise with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders. You will demonstrate great written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to deal with diverse strategic planning matters.
