• Ensure that the facility Environmental Management System (EMS) functions and is maintained in accordance with the requirements of ISO14001. Meet with management and plant representatives to report on performance of the EMS and set environmental goals and objectives. Schedule and manage external surveillance and re-certification audits.• Schedule and perform internal compliance audits.• Interface with local, state, and federal agencies as well as PACCAR Corporate with regards to all environmental inspections, permitting, and compliance issues – including corrective actions and follow-up responses.• Develop, maintain, and enforce formal compliance plans, procedures, and operating records to meet regulatory requirements. Facility permits include Title V Air Operating permit, King County Wastewater Discharge authorization, and Industrial Stormwater General permit.• Prepare and submit environmental reports to regulatory agencies and management in a timely manner. Maintain and follow an environmental compliance calendar.• Work with in-house HazMat technician(s). Ensure their training meets regulatory requirements and is appropriate to maintain and build upon their skill sets. Provide regular feedback and encouragement to team members.• Embrace and use lean methods, standard work and visual performance metrics in all aspects of your work and your team’s work.• Support and manage six sigma projects by taking on the role of Champion/Green Belt.• Work within a team to plan, develop and implement short and long-term environmental projects.• Schedule, profile, and track waste disposal activities in compliance with regulations. Oversee preparation of waste manifests, other shipping records, and supporting documentation. Track waste-to-landfill data, and act on opportunities to minimize generation and landfilling of wastes.• Maintain the hazardous materials usage and emissions database, and generate VOC and HAP emissions estimates monthly. Manage new SDS reviews and approvals, and maintain the SDS library.• Track greenhouse gas (GHG) changes. Prepare and report GHG estimates.• Oversee third party contractors and consultants employed for environmental management or compliance activities. Coordinate periodic tank and equipment pump-downs and cleanings with contractors and Maintenance.• Be a leading member of the plant’s emergency response team and as necessary help coordinate recovery efforts for equipment and facilities.• Maintain awareness of upcoming regulatory changes that have the potential to impact plant operation.• Other responsibilities as needed based on environmental goals and initiatives.Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree required, in engineering or environmental or physical science.• At least 3-5 years experience with environmental engineering, regulatory compliance, waste management, or emergency planning & response required. Experience working in an industrial facility and supervisory experience preferred.• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills required.• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including SharePoint and Access.• Demonstrated project management skills.• Experience with development/management of budgets and capital project submissions preferred.Additional Job Board Information
