Full-time/Part-time, (Armed) Protective Security Officer

This is designated as an Essential position. BTI Security seeks to hire a high caliber of security guards who demonstrate professionalism and a solid commitment to protecting and securing our sites, staff, and clients.Job Skills / RequirementsProtective Security Officers are responsible for meeting the local and federal requirements to perform duties as an armed officer. The primary duties of a

PSO

may include but are not limited to first response to emergencies, enforcing, conducting mobile patrols, inspections, and searches, responsible for access control and detecting, delaying, detaining, and/or apprehending persons attempting to gain unauthorized access to Government property or otherwise violating laws, rules, and regulations in accordance with the Post Orders.

PSO

must always be vigilant to observe.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Adhere to all company personnel and safety policies and perform all assigned duties in a safe working manner.Perform all tasks in accordance with the duties outlined in Post Orders.Arrive at work in proper uniform and carry the necessary, issued equipment.Participate in Guard Mount, receive assigned post, and copy any extra instructions.Use provided communication devices such as two-way radio in a clear and concise manner.Provide personal escort services for designated personnel, visitors, etc., when directed to do so by the COR.Conduct personnel, vehicular, building & facility checks, and packages and parcel inspections.Carry firearm license/permit on person while on duty (unless local or state law requires the contractor to maintain the records).Maintain hourly logs, detailed reports, and files of all incidents and occurrences during the tour of duty.Provide detailed reports on daily activities and/or incidents that may have occurred.Knowledgeable and able to effectively use magnetometer and X-ray machines.Ensure credentials are maintained per contract requirements.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Must have a customer service-driven mindset.Must be able to work flexible hours to include weekends and holidays if needed.Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor and/or Project Manager.Education Requirements:High School Diploma/GEDCertification Requirements:MD Armed Guard Card, DHS Suitability, O.C. aerosol spray, MEB Expandable Baton, Handcuffing Tactics and Instruction, DHS Letter of Suitability, Initials Weapon Training, Basic Training Exhibits 72/64 hours, CPR/First Aid, Firearms Qualification, FPS Orientation Certificate.Additional Information / BenefitsBenefits: Medical Insurance, Life Insurance, Dental Insurance, Vision Insurance, Paid Vacation, Paid Sick Days, Paid Holidays.Screening Requirements: Drug Screen, Criminal Background Check, Physical Exam.
