A law firm in Salt Lake City, UT, is seeking a highly experienced Life Science IP Partner to join its team. The ideal candidate will bring a portable and consistent book of business valued at $600,000+ and a proven track record in handling a wide range of life science prosecution, transactional, and litigation matters.Key Responsibilities:Lead and manage life science intellectual property matters, including patent prosecution, transactional work, and litigation.Develop and execute IP strategies tailored to clients' business objectives and industry requirements.Cultivate and maintain strong client relationships, leveraging a substantial and portable business book.Oversee complex IP transactions and agreements, including licensing, joint ventures, and technology transfers.Provide expert legal counsel on life science innovations, including pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and medical devices.Represent clients in life science-related litigation and dispute resolution.Mentor and supervise junior attorneys and legal staff.Contribute to the firm’s growth through business development and client acquisition activities.Requirements:Experience in life science intellectual property law.Proven track record of managing substantial IP portfolios and generating significant revenue.Deep understanding of life science technologies, including pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and medical devices.Experience in both prosecution and litigation matters in the life science sector.Education:Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.A bachelor’s degree in a relevant life science field (e.g., biology, chemistry, biochemistry) is preferred.Certifications:Admission to the Bar in Utah or eligibility to become licensed in Utah.Skills:Strong business acumen with a demonstrated ability to develop and sustain client relationships.Exceptional oral and written communication skills.Proven leadership and team management abilities.Strategic thinking with the capability to navigate complex legal and business issues.Proficiency in life science technologies and IP law.
