A law firm in San Diego, CA, is seeking a highly experienced Life Science IP Partner to join its team. This role requires an individual with a proven track record in managing a substantial portfolio of life science intellectual property matters, including prosecution, transactional, and litigation. The ideal candidate will bring a portable and consistent business book valued at $600,000+.Duties and Responsibilities:Lead and manage a diverse caseload of life science IP matters, including patents, trademarks, and trade secrets.Provide strategic counsel on intellectual property issues related to life sciences, including biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, and medical devices.Oversee and execute life science IP prosecution, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.Handle complex IP transactions, including licensing agreements, mergers and acquisitions, and joint ventures.Represent clients in IP litigation, including patent infringement disputes, appeals, and settlement negotiations.Develop and implement IP strategies tailored to the unique needs of life science clients.Build and maintain strong client relationships, leveraging a portable and consistent book of business.Mentor and manage junior attorneys and support staff in the IP practice area.Stay updated on emerging trends and developments in life science IP law and related fields.Collaborate with other practice areas within the firm to provide integrated legal solutions.Requirements:Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.Admission to the State Bar of California.Experience in life science intellectual property law, focusing on prosecution, transactional work, and litigation.Demonstrated success in managing a substantial business book with a portable and consistent value of $600,000+.Proven track record of managing complex IP matters and achieving favorable client outcomes.Strong leadership and management skills, with experience supervising junior attorneys and support staff.Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively present and negotiate on behalf of clients.Education:JD from an accredited law school.Undergraduate degree in life sciences, biotechnology, or a related field preferred.Certifications:Admission to the State Bar of California.Skills:Deep knowledge of life science intellectual property law and practices.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Ability to develop and implement strategic IP plans.Exceptional client relationship management skills.Proficient in legal research and analysis.Excellent negotiation and advocacy skills.
