Job Overview:

A law firm based in Washington, DC, is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Life Science IP Partner to join their team. The ideal candidate will bring a portable and consistent book of business exceeding $600,000 and extensive expertise in life science prosecution, transactional, and litigation matters. This role offers a dynamic environment to manage various intellectual property issues within the life sciences sector.Duties:Develop and manage a diverse portfolio of life science intellectual property matters, including prosecution, transactional work, and litigation.Cultivate and expand client relationships, ensuring high-quality service and strategic advice.Lead and oversee complex IP transactions, including licensing agreements, joint ventures, and mergers and acquisitions.Provide strategic guidance on patent portfolio management and IP risk assessments.Represent clients in life science-related IP disputes and litigation, including handling patent infringement cases and related legal matters.Collaborate with other partners and attorneys to integrate IP strategies with broader business objectives.Supervise and mentor junior attorneys and legal staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.Stay current with industry trends and legal developments in the life sciences and intellectual property fields.Requirements:Proven track record of maintaining a portable and consistent book of business valued at $600,000 or more.Extensive experience in life science intellectual property law, including prosecution and litigation.Demonstrated success in handling high-stakes IP transactions and disputes.Strong business development skills and a history of cultivating client relationships.Exceptional leadership and management abilities, with experience in mentoring junior attorneys.Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.Education:Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.Bachelor’s degree in a life science-related field is preferred.Certifications:Admission to the Bar in Washington, DC, or eligibility for admission.Skills:In-depth knowledge of life science intellectual property laws and regulations.Proven ability to handle complex IP issues and transactions effectively.Strong client relationship management and business development capabilities.Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills.Effective leadership and team-building skills.
