Position Summary:
The Director, Institutional Research and Planning will assume the primary leadership role at the College in the areas of institutional effectiveness, including the areas of institutional research, and departmental assessment. The Director collaborates with others to facilitate the college program assessment/review, and college planning processes.
Specific Responsibilities:
Extracting and compiling data for both internal and external data requests for various audiences, including but not limited to, University personnel, governmental agencies, accreditation agencies, public requests, and self-analysis.
Responding to ad hoc query requests and consulting with requestors to ensure data fulfills needs.
Monitoring institutional data integrity for accuracy in internal and external data requests.
Create institutional policies and procedures to support the mission and goals of the Institutional Effectiveness function.
Establish an institutional effectiveness research and reporting calendar for the college.
Provide interdepartmental consultation to facilitate the development of departmental goals and assessment activities.
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the college research and institutional effectiveness functions.
Integrate the college planning function with the research and budgeting functions.
Provide accurate information to the management team for decision-making.
In collaboration with the Vice President of Organizational Effectiveness, design, implement, and evaluate the academic program review model.
Ensure that program review data are disseminated to decision makers (faculty and administration) and facilitate the corresponding data analysis for decision-making in collaboration with others.
In collaboration with others, assist with the implementation of the AQIP accreditation process.
Collaborate with others to ensure the alignment between planning, budgeting, and the AQIP initiatives.
Collaborate with others to design strategies for communicating results of outcomes research.
Initiate and oversee all external reporting including but not limited to the National Center for Educational Statistics and Ohio Board of Regents: IPEDS key holder and HEI Liaison responsibilities.
Assist with collection, analysis and reporting of institutional data and other information from various college constituents by using applied research and statistical methods to interpret the data.
Acquires, manipulates, develops, and maintains data sets, verifying accuracy and consistency.
Provides data integrity and integrates research findings into institutional planning and decision-making.
Generates reports for assessment and data collection purposes using appropriate desktop software and communicates findings.
Assisting with the strategic/annual planning processes; strategies to meet accreditation requirements; planning, implementing, establishing standards for quality assurance/ practices and service excellence; and creation of an innovative process for college improvement.
Other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
F for Frequent (6+ hours daily), M for Moderate (4-6 hours daily), O for Occasional (2-4 hours daily) or R for Rarely(>2 hours daily).

Position Requirements:
Relevant Bachelor's Degree.
Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in database and spreadsheet software, hands-on analysis, including use of statistical and database management software (e.g. SPSS, SAS, OLAP, SQL, Access, Brio, and Peoplesoft).
Strong communication skills along with the ability to work harmoniously and effectively with personnel at all levels of campus.
A high level of organizational accuracy and attention to detail.
