Director of Quality & Engineering
We are seeking a dynamic and visionary Director of Quality and Engineering to champion excellence and innovation within our organization. In this pivotal role, you will cultivate a robust quality culture and drive continuous improvement across all manufacturing processes. Your expertise will be key in steering our team towards achieving unparalleled product quality and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities:
Cultivate Quality Excellence : Foster and promote a strong quality culture throughout the company, ensuring that quality is at the heart of every process and decision.
Root Cause Analysis and Problem Solving : Identify underlying issues in the production process, recommend and implement effective corrective actions to address and prevent future defects.
Data-Driven Insights : Analyze quality data to uncover trends and patterns, using this information to drive proactive measures that mitigate and eliminate potential issues.
Sustain Quality Processes : Oversee the maintenance and enhancement of manufacturing quality processes, ensuring they are rigorously applied and continuously improved.
Guidance and Support : Offer expert guidance on manufacturing processes for both new and existing production lines, ensuring seamless integration and optimization.
Hands-On Implementation : Collaborate closely with the shop floor team to implement solutions, ensuring practical and effective execution of quality measures.
Required Skills and Experience:
Educational Background : Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related discipline.
Experience : Minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience in quality engineering within a manufacturing environment.
Leadership : Self-motivated, independent leader with a proven track record of driving change and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Technical Proficiency : Excellent computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
Communication Skills : Strong ability to engage with cross-functional teams and executive management effectively.
Lean Manufacturing Expertise : Deep understanding and practical experience with Lean manufacturing principles and practices.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
Lean Manufacturing Experience : Demonstrated experience in implementing and managing Lean manufacturing initiatives.
Automotive Industry Experience : Previous experience in the automotive sector is highly desirable.
Certifications : Black Belt Certification in Six Sigma or related methodologies.
Problem Solving : Advanced skills in Root Cause Analysis and a proven expertise in resolving complex quality issues.
Location:
This position is based in Salem, NH, with occasional travel required (up to 25%).
