The Department of Neurology at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Brunswick, NJ, part of Rutgers- the State University of New Jersey, seeks a full-time faculty to start on July 1, 2023. Function as Chief of the Division of Neuromuscular Disorders in the Department of Neurology. Board-eligible or certified neurologists with strong interests in clinical research and teaching. Participate in the clinical care of patients with neurological disorders in the sub-specialty of Neuromuscular Disorders according to a schedule determined by the Chair.Responsibilities

Function as the Division Chief of Neuromuscular DisordersOversee the MDA-designated ALS Center of ExcellenceFunction as the Chief of the Electromyography (EMG) Laboratory at RWJBH-NBSupervisor of Division FacultyCare for patients with neuromuscular disorders in the outpatient and hospital settingsPerform electrodiagnostic tests in both the outpatient and hospital settingsAttend the consult service at the RWJUH according to a schedule determined by ChairParticipate in night and weekend callParticipate in the Department’s educational activities, including lecturing students and residents and supervising the resident clinicParticipate in the administrative activities of DepartmentParticipate in the clinical neuromuscular research programParticipate in the General Neurology clinic at RWJ and satellite clinics as neededParticipate in the teaching mission of RWJMS to the extent determined in consultation with the Department ChairParticipate in the community service responsibilities of the department, such as providing neurological care for indigent patients and teaching or advising lay community groups in the area of neurological disordersParticipate in the consult rotation and the weekend call schedulesAttend departmental and institutional faculty/other meetingsParticipate in administrative tasks, including membership in standing or ad hoc departmental and institutional committeesPerform other duties as required.The Division of Neurology includes nationally and internationally recognized faculty with a proud record of productivity in clinical and translational research and excellent regional and national reputations as clinical referral targets. The department has 27 full-time faculty, 12 residents, and five nationally recognized centers of excellence. Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital is the primary teaching hospital for the medical school.Position Status

Minimum Education and Experience: MD Candidates must be graduates of an ACGME-accredited neurology residency, be board certified or eligible in neurology; have completed a fellowship in neuromuscular disorders or related clinical neurosciences, and be eligible for a New Jersey License. Rank and track will be consistent with qualifications.Physical Demands and Work Environment

Must be able to lift 20 pounds and have direct contact with rodents.Application Process
