Organizational Overview:KIPP Metro Atlanta Schools is part of the KIPP (Knowledge is Power Program) national network of free, open enrollment, college preparatory schools dedicated to ensuring that every child grows up free to create the future they want for themselves and their communities. There are 280 KIPP schools in 21 states and the District of Columbia serving more than 175,000 scholars and alumni. Job Summary:The Director of Technology is responsible for ensuring the coordination and implementation of technology across KIPP Metro Atlanta Schools. Reporting to the Managing Director of Technology, the Director of Technology will manage an outside IT Support Tech vendor and ensure that technology is working and support is provided to all KIPP Metro Atlanta Schools and staff. The Director of Technology will lead the procurement and selection process for hardware and software for staff and scholar devices technology at KIPP Metro Atlanta schools, designing the evaluation criteria to ensure consistency across the organization and provide support to ensure that technology remains in service and functioning.
Job Responsibilities:Team Leadership & Management 40%
Manage third party IT Support vendors through comprehensive development including the establishment of performance goals, regular check-ins, observations, timely feedback and professional development opportunities
Regularly lead team meetings to ensure the effective cascade of communication, identifying areas of challenge and coordinating necessary changes in response to organizational challenges
Hold team accountable to performance goals and metrics identified through organizational planning and as part of their day-to-day duties
Partner with the Director of Network Security and Directors of Operations to coordinate efforts to carryout technology related deliverables, such as interim assessment or end of course assessments
Strategy Planning & Execution 25%
Support the development of, direct, and execute the technology strategy for KIPP Metro Atlanta Schools to ensure technology is working and support is provided to all KIPP Metro Atlanta Schools schools and staff
Analyze, assess and recommend technology and consultant solutions to support KIPP Metro Atlanta Schools technology needs and develop schedules and milestones to track progress of technology implementation
Design and establish IT policies and systems to support the implementation of multi-year strategic initiatives and priorities established by KIPP Metro Atlanta Schools
Responsible for executing inventory counts of all technology hardware and devices
Technology Support 35%
Design, develop and administer technology procurement process and lead the device management process for both students and staff to ensure real-time monitoring of device health and asset management across KIPP Metro Atlanta Schools
Develop and manage annual IT budgets and oversee ERATE and other grant processes and implementation
Select, negotiate agreement with, and manage relationships and contracts with technology vendors and providers, consultants and suppliers to deliver on service level agreements related to technology support
Escalation point of contact and troubleshooting response for any technical issues including connectivity, computer hardware and software, printers, applications, replacement and upgrades, data migration and archival, and email administration for KIPP Metro Atlanta Schools
Stay current with trends in educational technology trends as well as attends related conferences and ongoing training
Compensation & Benefits:Compensation for this role is between $85,000 and $95,000. The starting pay will depend on various factors that may include but are not limited to professional experience, education, training, and certifications.

Bachelors Degree required, Masters Degree preferred
Minimum of 5 years of experience in Information Technology or closely related experience, with at least 3 years supervisory experience and a track record of hiring, developing and retaining high performing teams
Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to solve complex problems and implement solutions, an ability to manage both the big picture and the details, and a strong sense of judgment
Proven track record of meeting deadlines and the ability to be flexible and adapt to changing priorities, multi-task, work in a fast-paced demanding environment, operate effectively with ambiguity, and willing to learn and take on new responsibilities
Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills and ability to build meaningful relationships quickly
