Description

We are looking for a dynamic and visionary leader with a passion for driving commercial success. This role involves leading the development and execution of strategic initiatives across various venues, programs, and events. Your mission will be to maximize revenue, establish valuable partnerships, and ensure the successful execution of major events while enhancing our organization's commercial impact.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership: Serve as a senior advisor to the President & CEO on all commercial matters, overseeing commercial activities including naming rights, sponsorships, and business partnerships.Revenue Growth: Identify and develop new revenue streams and business opportunities to strengthen the organization's financial position.Event Bids: Collaborate with the Convention Sales team to manage the commercial aspects of major event bids, ensuring effective business strategies and risk management.Commercial Structures: Create and oversee plans for commercial frameworks, including host committees for major events like the 2028 RNC.Representation: Travel to conferences and meetings nationwide to promote the organization and enhance its reputation as a top event destination.Internal Collaboration: Develop strategies to improve internal alignment and maximize commercial assets.Team Building: Build and lead a high-performing sales or commercial team, driving successful sales processes from outreach to deal execution.Financial Oversight: Manage budgeting, forecasting, and performance metrics for commercial activities, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.Stakeholder Engagement: Cultivate relationships with stakeholders, represent the organization at events, and serve on committees as needed.Market Analysis: Monitor market trends and competitor activities to inform strategic decisions.Additional Duties: Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the President & CEO.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent executive experience.Experience: 15+ years in executive-level roles related to commercial rights, business development, and revenue generation, with a preference for experience in sports and entertainment.

Skills

Ability to analyze and interpret financial and legal documents.Experience with complex business arrangements and stakeholder management.Proven track record in driving revenue and organizational growth.Highly motivated with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Creative and adaptable with strong strategic thinking and analytical abilities.Exceptional at relationship management, networking, and contract negotiations.Capable of building and maintaining successful partnerships and executing diverse campaigns and events.

Work Environment

Office Setting: Normal office environment with occasional extra hours to meet deadlines or work events.Travel: Ability to travel locally and to trade shows, conventions, and conferences (less than 20% of the year).
