Southport Presbyterian Church Seeks Music Director
Southport Presbyterian Church, located in the charming coastal community of Southport, NC, seeks a dynamic and collaborative Music Director to lead our diverse choir of 20-30 voices. Our ideal candidate will inspire and mentor singers of all experience levels, creating meaningful musical experiences that can uplift and enrich our congregation.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide music leadership for Sunday worship services, weddings and funerals as requested, with additional compensation.
Lead and direct our choir in weekly rehearsals and Sunday services, creating musical offerings that resonate with diverse audiences.
Cultivate a supportive and inclusive choir environment, fostering growth and camaraderie among singers.
Collaborate weekly with pastors to plan and execute engaging worship services.
Participate in monthly Worship Committee meetings.
Select and prepare a wide variety of sacred music, drawing from your knowledge of both traditional and contemporary repertoire.
Demonstrate piano proficiency and organ competency (organ competency not essential).
Prepare and manage an annual music program budget.
Abide by copyright laws, including reporting usage, and maintaining copyright licenses.

An accomplished pianist with a passion for choral music and leading others.
