Opportunity Awaits, Apply Today! – Regional Coordinator (Filling two positions)

The Oregon Department of Emergency Management (OEM) has two regionally focused teams serving as dedicated points of contact across six regions of the state to support partners through all areas of emergencies and disasters. The Regional Coordinators serve as OEM’s liaisons to partners, as well as supporting agency programs and priorities.

The Regional Preparedness & Response Coordinators provide assistance and support with preparedness programs, such as grants, planning, monitoring, training and exercise. They can also assist with response and operational needs before, during and after an event or incident.

The Regional Mitigation & Recovery Coordinators provide assistance with mitigation programs, including pre/post-disaster grants, mitigation projects and quality control. During recovery, they can be requested to support damage assessments, recovery planning and support recovery needs.

These positions support 4 counties in the Portland Metro Region: Columbia, Multnomah, Washington, and Clackamas Counties.

What do you need to qualify? Minimum Qualifications:

A Bachelor's Degree in Business or Public Administration, Behavioral or Social Sciences, or a degree related to Emergency Management that demonstrates the capacity for the knowledge and skills; and four years experience coordinating or administering a program.

OR;

Any combination of experience or education equivalent to seven years of experience that typically supports the knowledge and skill requirements.

Organizational Planning & Development - Demonstrated understanding of performance and process improvement practices, as well as working within and defining scope.

Analysis & Problem Solving - Experience recognizing issues, developing effective solutions, and building consensus-based solutions; Flexibility, adaptability, and creativity in coming up with solutions while still following established rules.

Interpersonal Relationships & Professionalism - Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team setting while demonstrating ethical standards and independent judgment at all times, solicit respect, and value of diversity of opinions, ideas, and cultural differences.
