Its employees consistently rank Moss as one of the best places to work.POSITION SCOPE AND ORGANIZATIONAL IMPACTMoss' Manager of Communications will play a pivotal role in telling Moss' story and expanding its reach. This position is responsible for internal communications that drive engagement and support organizational objectives, as well as select external communications that enhance Moss' public image. The role offers the opportunity to collaborate closely with leadership and various teams to ensure consistent, compelling messaging across both internal and external platforms. This role will report to the Director of Communications and support communications for the Construction Management (CM), business, as well as IT, Finance, Legal and other shared services.ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESDevelop and implement internal communication strategies that enhance employee engagement and reinforce company values
Collaborate with senior leadership and department heads to ensure that internal messaging supports the company's overall business strategy
Establish metrics to measure the effectiveness of internal communications efforts and gather employee feedback
Use data-driven insights to continuously improve communication strategies and tactics
Prepare compelling presentations for company leadership and executives (compose content, create slide graphics, curate photos, validate data, write speaker notes)
Develop content that maintains a consistent brand voice across all internal and external platforms
Support select external communications efforts, including public relations, community outreach, and social media, as needed
Channel the Moss brand voice-ghostwrite executive communications that achieve operational priorities and leverage thought leadership opportunities
Manage and execute internal events, including town halls, leadership briefings, and employee celebrations
Support leadership communications to ensure clarity during organizational changes and other strategic initiatives
Embrace opportunities to experiment with industry-leading technologies like AI and machine learning to improve communication workflows
Assist in the hiring, training, and development of communications staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement
Perform other duties as assigned
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCEBachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field
7+ years of experience in internal and external communications, with a focus on internal engagement and PR/media relations
Strong writing, editing, and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated experience managing internal communications and supporting external media relations and/or community outreach
Proficiency in meeting planning and PowerPoint presentation development
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and senior leadership
Proficiency with communication tools and platforms, including intranet systems, social media, and email marketing software
Ability to think strategically and execute tactically, balancing long-term vision with current priorities
