We are seeking a dedicated Laboratory Technician to join the team at

Some of what you'll do:Perform routine clinical laboratory tests, including kit assays, bedside monitoring, automated chemistry tests, and cell counts on body fluids.Maintain cell culture systems, grow and harvest viral stocks, titer each lot of stock virus, and prepare viral lysates.Operate, calibrate, and maintain various laboratory equipment such as spectrophotometers, refractometers, automated chemistry analyzers, and microscopes.Troubleshoot and resolve contamination or toxicity problems in cell cultures and media; perform quality control on reagents and viral lysates.Execute phlebotomy procedures, including finger-stick and foot collection.Perform detailed technical laboratory assistance, including ICD-9CM coding on all specimens sent to referral laboratories.Identify and report any actual or suspected cases of abuse, neglect, mistreatment, exploitation, or abandonment, following prescribed procedures.Create, record, and update client/resident files, ensuring accurate documentation.Prepare and present reports on laboratory test results.Provide in-service training to Physicians and Nursing Staff on topics such as venipuncture technique, specimen collection and preparation, urinalysis procedure, and laboratory diagnosis coding.Maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment, ensuring that all work areas are stocked and ready for use.

Who should apply:Professionals with an Associate's degree from a Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAHEA) accredited Medical Laboratory Technician program including courses in chemistry and biology.ORCompletion of a course for laboratory assistants, approved by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists, may be substituted for two years of the required experience.OREquivalent education/experience.Interested?
