The Case Specialist I works as part of the administrative team providing direct services to families referred through the Family Court. The Case Specialist is responsible for conducting supervised visitation services and completing documentation for visits. He/She is responsible for conducting intakes of parents, compiling and editing reports sent to the Court, overseeing on-site shadow training of new staff, interns, and volunteers, and contributing to the collection and maintenance of client services and demographic data. The Case Specialist's work schedule includes holidays, weekends, and weekdays/evenings, as well as providing on-call coverage during direct service hours. He/she attends case staff meetings and supervision as scheduled and works closely with other staff to identify and participate in the development of community resources for client referrals. Other responsibilities as assigned.The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.The salary range for this position is $22.67 - $32.01 (Hourly Rate).Department Description

1-2 years of experience in a human services related field.Years of education in a human services field beyond High School can replace years of experience.High School Diploma or Equivalent.Knowledge of Microsoft word processing.Prior experience working with children and/or families.Detail oriented.Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills, with appropriate use of grammar rules and ability to edit documents.Team oriented.Able to maintain professional boundaries and a courteous demeanor in challenging situations.Preferred Qualifications

Experience working with families in conflict; primarily domestic violence.Bachelor Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology or related field.Demonstrates knowledge of child development, child abuse prevention, and child exposure to domestic violence.Conflict resolution & limit-setting skills.Bilingual/Bicultural Spanish or Chinese (Cantonese/Mandarin) preferred.About UCSF
