Clinical Director

Full Time-Exempt

Open Skies Healthcare is seeking a Clinical Director to lead and oversee the Outpatient Clinical Operations.

Open Skies Healthcare is a non-profit organization which has its roots in the communities of central New Mexico. Our mission as a nonprofit agency is to provide exceptional behavioral health services that empower individuals and families to realize wellbeing, recovery, resilience, and independence.

Responsibilities

The Clinical Director works as part of the Executive Leadership Team.

The Clinical Director oversees all aspects of the outpatient clinical operations, programming, and treatment services. Programs included are Outpatient Therapy, Comprehensive Community Support Services, Behavior Management Services, and Respite.

In collaboration with the Treatment Foster Care Clinical Director, the Outpatient Clinical Director protects and enhances the Open Skies Healthcare brand, focused on safety, fidelity, and quality of care, clinical initiatives, and quality assurance and improvement efforts.

The Clinical Director reports directly to the Executive Director.

Interview and onboard new clinicians, ensuring their participation in clinical new hire orientation and position-specific trainings and shadowing.

Facilitate clinical trainings for specific clinicians or topics as needs are identified.

Assign caseloads to ensure all clients and families receive therapeutic services while maximizing the clinical team’s potential to maintain or increase capacity.

Facilitate individual and group supervision, ongoing clinical trainings, and components of All-Staff New Hire Orientation.

Focus on client and family experience and successful outcomes through consistent communication and attention to family needs.

Manage emerging crisis situations while providing clinical guidance.

Participate in On Call Rotation.

Drive quality assurance efforts and quality improvement initiatives as required.

Audit medical charts monthly to ensure clinical documentation meets quality and submission standards, with deficiencies addressed with staff and additional training provided if needed.

Qualifications

Master’s degree in social work or psychology field plus five years in the mental health field.

New Mexico clinical license in good standing, as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPCC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).

A minimum of three years’ experience supervising clinicians and providing program leadership.

Demonstrated ability to supervise and lead a team of clinicians and paraprofessional level staff, including clinical supervision.

Highly motivated, possessing organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to handle multiple responsibilities effectively and with discretion.

Independent worker with the ability to function as a team player with initiative and flexibility.

Advanced knowledge of clinical treatment.

Knowledge of child abuse; child protective and law enforcement investigative procedures; and the legal reporting mandates for professionals.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Computer literacy.

Willingness and ability to stay current in relevant issues through live, online, and written training.

Respect for diversity and commitment to providing culturally competent, inclusive services.

Possess a valid driver’s license and pass a national criminal background check.

Operate a computer and other office equipment.
