Staff Accountant
LHH Recruitment Solutions is looking for a Staff Accountant for a growing client in Covington, KY. This position will oversee and manage financial transactions, including fixed payments, variable expenses, bank deposits, and budgets. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in bookkeeping and a keen eye for detecting numerical discrepancies. Your role will involve auditing financial documents, reconciling bank statements, and calculating tax payments and returns, all while ensuring compliance with tax regulations. This position is direct hire and will pay between $50K and $65K annually.
Responsibilities
Oversee all accounting transactions and ensure accuracyPrepare and manage budget forecastsPublish financial statements in a timely mannerHandle monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closingsReconcile accounts payable and receivableEnsure timely processing of bank paymentsCalculate taxes and prepare tax returnsManage balance sheets and profit / loss statementsReport on the companys financial health, liquidity, and cash flowsAudit financial transactions and documents to ensure accuracyMaintain confidentiality of financial data and conduct database backups as neededEnsure compliance with financial policies and regulationsRequirements
Proven work experience as an accountantComprehensive knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including GAAPProficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks)Advanced MS Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs and pivot tablesExperience with general ledger functionsStrong attention to detail and excellent analytical abilitiesBachelors degree in accounting, finance, or a related fieldAdditional certification (CPA or CMA) is a plus
