The Executive Director is responsible for the implementation of all tasks required to achieve The Recovery Center’s (“TRC”) mission and goals. In this capacity, the Executive Director is the primary interface for the corporation in public relations, contract negotiations and implementation, personnel management, customer and donor relationships, and legislative affairs. This seasoned leader understands current addiction treatment and has experience in developing and implementing a successful fundraising plan. The Executive Director also guides the Board and senior management on matters relating to strategic planning, operations, financial management, compliance, and performance improvement.ResponsibilitiesEnsure corporation follows all local, state, and federal laws and regulations, concerning nonprofit operations, business operations, government contracting, human resources, and accounting.Create business plans for achieving goals and objectives set in collaboration with Board.Design and implementation of a Board-approved, comprehensive fundraising plan through market segment research and analysis of referral, donor, and event data.Meet annual fundraising goals, in partnership with Board, by securing financial support from foundations, corporations, individual donors, and government funding sources.Work with staff and Board on annual fundraising benefit and other events and oversee all external communications, including website, marketing collateral, newsletters, and social media accounts. Create and monitor content regularly to grow the company’s footprint.Serve as the face of TRC and participate in external events to increase visibility, credibility, and market brand, and develop strategic partnerships to increase community awareness and expand programs.Manage portfolio of donors, prepare and present regular reports on progress towards fundraising goals to the Board, and generate donor communications, newsletters, and annual reports. Network and maintain regular correspondence with donors and referral sources.Manage grant writing and identification of new grant opportunities.Build and lead an effective team that is dedicated to fulfilling TRC’s mission through highly successful programs, community engagement, and fundraising.Oversee all corporate financial activities including budget preparation, monitoring of purchases, payments to vendors, and audit requirements.Maintain the philosophical and programmatic integrity of the Oklahoma State contract and other grants or contracts.Serve on-call 24 hours/day, for consideration of any issues and/or procedures requiring approval or denial by the Executive Director, as defined in TRC’s Policies and Procedures Manual.Prepare and coordinate annual budget.Oversee and/or directly participate in the management of TRC’s funds and the proper accounting of TRC’s funds.Assist Board in development and procurement of additional financial resources and creation of new programs.Perform other work-related duties as necessary or assigned by the Board.Attend continuing education annually to improve nonprofit skill set.Maintain an open, honest, and transparent relationship with the Board.EducationGraduation from an accredited college and/or university with a master’s degree or the equivalent number of hours in business administration, public administration, public health, social work, or related field.QualificationsAt least ten (10) years of work experience preferably in substance abuse/mental health field that can be demonstrated to be applicable to the duties listed in the job description.Marketing or customer relations experience; a proven track record of successfully meeting fundraising goals and securing gifts; experience finding grant opportunities and writing successful grants; or some combination of these skills.SkillsExtensive knowledge of methods of organization, management, and supervision of the social and economic problems related to alcohol and ability to prepare technical reports and develop evaluation techniques.Strong experience in public relations, marketing, grant writing, and fundraising.Strong interpersonal, verbal communication and presentation skills.Excellent writing, editing and proofreading ability.Knowledge of leadership and management principles for nonprofit organizations.Proven success working with a Board.Entrepreneurial mindset, with innovative approach to business planning.Dynamic and charismatic team player who enjoys being the public face of an organization.Physical DemandsSitting for extended period of time.Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard and mouse.Infrequent light physical effort required.The employee is regularly required to talk and hear.Specific vision abilities required by this job are close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.Please send your resume to Dara@trcok.com.
