The budgeted salary range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is $58,600 - $69,150/yr. The full salary range for this position is $58,600 - $100,800/yr. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience; the budget for the position; and the application of fair, equitable, and consistent pay practices at the University.Work Location:

The Assistant Director for Student Support & Advocacy is located in the Resource Center for Sexual & Gender Diversity (RCSGD) at UCSB. Serves as a resource for LGBTQIA+ members of the University community and helps support the mission and function of the RCSGD. The Assistant Director's main role is providing management to programming, outreach, and education to the campus community, and oversight of the center. Additional duties include supporting students, staff, faculty, and community members who access the center's services; supervising student employees; and helping maintain the office's physical space. Must display an understanding of key issues LGBTQIA+ students face.Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.1-3 years full-time relevant experience working in higher education, non-profit, mental health, or other related setting.Experience serving as the primary supervisor of part-time staff.Demonstrated knowledge of or experience working with queer and trans people of color communities.Demonstrated knowledge of or experience working with trans communities.Experience providing presentations or facilitating educational workshops.Knowledge of University and departmental principles and procedures involved in risk assessment.Experience balancing competing priorities.Preferred Qualifications:Master's degree in related area.Experience designing curriculum for adult learners.Previous experience in sexual assault crisis counseling or domestic violence advocacy.Special Conditions of Employment:Some evening and weekend work is required.This position will function as a confidential liaison with the campus sexual assault, dating/domestic violence, and stalking resource department.Job Functions and Percentages of Time:30% Student Support and Advocacy:Serves as the primary resource to provide one-on-one support, crisis management, and appropriate referrals for students in distress.25% Supervision:Provides leadership, direction, and supervision for up to 10 Student Assistants.15% Management:In absence of Director, represents the department to the campus community.20% Educational Programming:Provide cohesive campus and community educational programming.10% Public Information:Collaborates and provides content for the development of printed materials.Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Statement:
