National Corporate Relations Officer

The National Corporate Relations Officer reports directly to the National Director of Corporate & Entertainment Relations at United States Veterans Initiative (U.S.VETS) National Office and is primarily responsible for managing the U.S.VETS' national and regional corporate fundraising portfolio. This person is a member of a team of five, including the National Associate Director of Events & Sponsorships, the National Events & Sponsorships Manager, and the National Corporate & Entertainment Relations Manager.

This role manages efforts associated with corporate revenue and employee engagement and is the lead revenue generator for corporate grants and foundation gifts, employee giving, matching gifts, and Veteran Service Projects. The National Corporate Relations Officer supports a comprehensive corporate fundraising program designed to broaden U.S.VETS' corporate donor base and increase financial support for U.S.VETS' regional sites and national operations. Additional responsibilities include specific social media communications, financial and data reporting, and departmental administration as needed.

Responsibilities

Corporate Relations & Fundraising (75%)Manages the solicitation, confirmation, and stewardship of a portfolio of national and regional corporate accounts with gift targets of $1,000+ to meet annual fiscal year (July 1 - June 30) cumulative corporate revenue goalsManages the prospecting and outreach to new corporate partners and has a key focus in building new partnershipsManages the solicitation and coordination of the national corporate employee giving and matching gift program, ensuring regular corporate giving campaigns and matching gifts revenues continue to increase annuallyManages outreach, solicitation, and stewardship of employee resources groups and other business-related fundersSolicits corporate partnerships in support of Veteran Service Projects and coordinates the engagement of employee groups at regional sites for national partners and other business groups/professional associationsSupports the engagement of national veteran-owned businesses, local auxiliary and professional groups, clubs and associations, and other small businesses or member-based entitiesSocial Media Communications (15%)

Partners with the U.S.VETS' Communications team to support corporate communicationsDevelops the national corporate monthly social media calendar including caption development, photo selection, and tags/hashtags for U.S.VETS' national Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn accounts and schedules weekly corporate social media posts following the approved monthly calendarEnsure regional and national corporate volunteer activities are photographed and posted on social mediaManages the Corporate activity photo and video archives to ensure proper labeling, placement, and useData Management & Administration (10%)

Partners with the Database Department to ensure the timely and accurate inputting of corporate and events data/gifts in Raiser's EdgeEnsures partner deliverables are tracked in Raiser's Edge, gifts are acknowledged, and annual performance reports are submitted on a regular basisSubmits monthly departmental expense reports, creates corporate partner invoices, monitors payment timelines, and tracks pledge reportsCoordinates schedules for corporate partner meetings, develops prep memos, and prep meetingsParticipates in regular Development team meetings including but not limited to supervisor check-ins, Development team meetings, monthly national/regional team roundtables, staff meetings, and others as scheduledPerforms other duties as assignedQualifications

Requirements

Bachelor's degree or related work experienceThree or more years of relevant experience in nonprofit corporate fundraising, database support, donor relationship management, social media communications, or other relevant experienceDemonstrated success in soliciting and acquiring gifts and managing philanthropic partnerships in a non-profitExcellent project management, customer service, interpersonal, writing, and presentation skillsAbility to multitask, meet deadlines, and manage complex projects with a keen attention to detailDemonstrated proficiency with numbers and financial information and the ability to create reports and spreadsheets using information from the databaseBased regionally in any of the following U.S.VETS' markets: Los Angeles, Phoenix, Las Vegas, Houston, or Washington, DC. Able to regularly commute to the nearest site location and travel to the National Office in Downtown Los Angeles as neededHigh levels of integrity, trustworthiness, flexibility, and compassion are necessary to address the practicalities of a growing development program, along with the creativity and persistence required to elicit new ideas and changeMust be able to work independently and within a teamWillingness to travel as assigned to other U.S.VETS' marketsProficiency utilizing Microsoft Office and fundraising management softwareProficient understanding of social media communications and platformsPreferences

Experience in Canva, Constant Contact, Raiser's Edge and/or Classy a plusReliable mode of ground transportation in home marketKnowledge of veteran issues, local homelessness issues, and local services is a plus
