Nestled just minutes away from Washington, DC, Prince George's County combines urban vibrancy with serene surroundings, offering an ideal setting to live, work, and enjoy life.We are Prince George’s Proud!The Prince George's County Government Department of Health seeks qualified applicants to fill a Lead Counselor position, grade A24, within its Behavioral Health Services Division.About the Position:This is a full-time professional position responsible for leading the Community Case Management and Hospital Diversion programs within the Prince George's County Health Department's Behavioral Health Division. The work location is in the Cheverly Clinic and UM Capital Region Health Center, respectively.The Lead Counselor III will conduct assessments and/or assign clients to a case manager to determine the needed services. The Lead Counselor III will coordinate the network of community-based partners and resources that support service provision to participating clients, including monitoring service conduct, delivery, and quality. The Lead Counselor III will ensure that partners utilize the programs according to the established workflows. The Lead Counselor III will be responsible for data collection and tracking, using data to identify and recommend opportunities for improvement and expansion, and reporting data as per grant requirements. The Lead Counselor III must be a problem-solver and adaptable, willing to solve unanticipated challenges or barriers.This is a highly responsible position that requires an advanced level of organizational and communication skills. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Counselor IV Program Manager. The incumbent must have and maintain an active, independent license issued by the Maryland Board of Professional Counselors & Therapists (BOPC), the Maryland Board of Social Workers, or the Maryland Board of Psychologists in the performance of duties outlined below.About the AgencyThe Prince George's County Health Department's (PGCHD) vision is that all Prince Georgians are their healthiest at every age and every stage. The PGCHD works to protect and support the public’s health through numerous services that range from restaurant inspections and disease tracking to care coordination and health promotion.Identifies and screens clients using evidence-based screening tools.Develops and implements case management plans, identifying unique needs and strategies to meet the needs.Assigns caseloads and manages own caseload.Facilitates case presentations providing input and solutions on complex cases.Serves as point of contact for all external partners providing services to program participants.Identifies new community partners based on needs of the client base.Maintains positive relationships with community-based partners and hospital partners.Manages tracking and collection of program data.Completes monthly reports, including tracking client activity and program performance measures.Seeks opportunities to expand the programs and recommends new opportunities.Develops educational group session curriculums and schedules; leads sessions.Candidates must meet the Education, Certification and License requirements to qualify for this position.Education:Master's Degree in Counseling, Social Work, or Psychology;

ORDoctoral level degree in Counseling, Social Work, or Psychology.Certification Requirements:Achieve a passing score on the

National Counselors Examination of the National Board for Certified Counselors and the State Law Test;A candidate placed in this classification must be licensed as a
