Life Sciences Patent Agent

A law firm based in Denver, CO, is seeking a highly qualified Life Sciences Patent Agent. The ideal candidate will be a USPTO registered Patent Agent with a strong background in life sciences patent prosecution. This role requires exceptional writing skills, relevant experience in patent prosecution, and an advanced degree or equivalent expertise, particularly in molecular biology.Duties:Conduct patentability analyses and provide strategic advice on patent prosecution.Draft, file, and prosecute patent applications in the life sciences field.Prepare and review patent-related documentation, including claims, specifications, and responses to office actions.Communicate with clients, inventors, and colleagues regarding patent strategies and updates.Stay current with legal and scientific developments relevant to life sciences patents.Collaborate with attorneys to support patent litigation and other intellectual property matters.Perform detailed prior art searches and provide comprehensive patentability opinions.Manage and track patent portfolio and deadlines.Requirements:USPTO registration as a Patent Agent.At least 3 years of direct experience in patent prosecution within the life sciences sector.Strong understanding of life sciences technologies, with expertise in molecular biology considered a significant asset.Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Education:Advanced degree (Ph.D. or Master's) in a relevant life sciences field (e.g., molecular biology, biochemistry, biotechnology) or equivalent experience.Certifications:Registered Patent Agent with the USPTO.Skills:Proven proficiency in technical writing and drafting patent applications.Ability to analyze complex scientific data and translate it into patent claims.Strong research skills for conducting prior art searches and developing patent strategies.Effective communication skills for interacting with clients and team members.Proficiency in managing multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
