Summer Session is a significant part of UC Santa Cruz, enrolling more than 6,000 students with annual growth expected to continue.JOB SUMMARYResponsibilities include managing course scheduling, overseeing enrollment actions, and coordinating the Student Experience of Teaching surveys for the summer term. Applies skills as an experienced student services administrator to provide prescriptive advice on Summer Session policies and procedures and all aspects of course management.JOB DUTIES70% - Academic Planning and AdministrationWork with the Director to define and implement long/short-range goals and objectives.Provide administrative and analytical support to the Director on various projects and reports.Manage annual summer course scheduling.Collaborate with Department Managers to develop administrative policies and procedures.Coordinate all aspects of the Student Experience of Teaching survey.Provide guidance to Summer Session students on all aspects of their Summer academic experience.30% - Financial ManagementProvide analysis and information to the Summer Session Director on program budgets.Assist in setting the annual department budget.Process expenditures and reimbursements.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSThorough knowledge of university rules and regulations.Related administrative experience.Ability to work as an effective member of a team.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSThorough knowledge of financial analysis and reporting techniques.Experience working with faculty in a University setting.SPECIAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENTSelected candidate will be required to pass a pre-employment criminal history background check.Ability to work long periods of time at a computer with or without accommodation.SAFETY STATEMENTAll UCSC employees must understand and follow job safety procedures.EEO/AAThe University of California is an Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
