Our client is a well-established law firm seeking a detail-oriented and organized
Staff Accountant
to join their Finance team.Salary/Hourly Rate:$70k - $90k plus Discretionary bonusPosition Overview:The Staff Accountant will be responsible for handling full-cycle accounting duties, including preparing financial reports, maintaining general ledger accounts, and assisting with month-end close processes. This role requires a candidate with strong accounting knowledge, analytical skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.Responsibilities of the Staff Accountant:
The Staff Accountant will manage full-cycle accounting processes, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations. Prepare and maintain accurate financial reports, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards.
The Staff Accountant will assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
Support budgeting and forecasting activities, providing timely and accurate financial data for decision-making.
Assist with audits and coordinate with external auditors as needed.
The Staff Accountant will ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies.
Participate in the preparation of tax filings and other regulatory requirements.
Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
Qualifications for the Staff Accountant:
Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience, preferably in a professional services environment (law firm experience is not required).
Strong understanding of full-cycle accounting principles and practices.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
Education Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is required.
