Employment and Training Coordinator -As the Employment & Training Coordinator, you will oversee the implementation and delivery of critical public assistance programs that are both state and federally funded. You'll also ensure delivery of services that adhere to agency policies, federal regulations, and state law. You'll have responsibility for resource allocation within the CSO (Community Service Office) to achieve regional and statewide outcomes. You will establish and expand relationships with business and community leaders, educational institutions, interest groups, and state and local partner agencies.As the Employment and Training Coordinator, you will develop and implement regional strategies for policies and practices that promote employment and training programs, which create job opportunities. You'll produce and track program data reports, performance analysis, and provide consultation for CSO, regional, and statewide strategic planning. You will also participate in the development of statewide policies. You will represent Region 2 HQ when assigned to attend internal and external community meetings and outreach events. You'll plan and conduct community and stakeholder education and discussion forums to inform the public, promote employment and training programs, case management and post-employment services, and to share client successes.As the Employment and Training Coordinator, you will serve as the subject matter expert to maintain and interpret policy and for the expansion of ABAWD, BFET, and EP services. Major outcomes expected from this position include establishing and enhancing critical employer and stakeholder relationships, building trust between the Division and community leaders and partner agencies, and generating public and legislative goodwill to further the Division's programs and activities related to ABAWD, BFET, and EP.

Some of what you will do:The Coordinator has the primary function of building and overseeing regional employment development and strategies to increase employment opportunities for DSHS families, and to move households to sustainable economic independence.Work with business, community, educational providers and stakeholder partners to develop and strengthen employment opportunities with appropriate training and post-employment services to ensure client success.Develop and oversee implementation strategies for a broad array of issues, such as: developing and maintaining employer relationships; timing and geographical location for program expansion; and developing appropriate employment opportunities and associated training and support for staff and clients.Conduct effective community outreach and education regarding the program and benefits to employers, communities, and clients.Work with other DSHS administrations and state agencies and community partners to help state agencies serve as model employers for DSHS clients.This position works with department leaders, managers and internal department line staff to develop appropriate regional policy and procedures required to implement critical components and effect successful outcomes.Create and maintain an Employment Pipeline program manual for use by state line staff; employer navigators, and points of contact in each Community Services Office to provide EP services to clients, including specific policies, processes, and strategies directly related to the EP program.Ensure automated systems fully support statewide program implementation and client follow-up for ABAWD, BFET, and BP.Develop guidance for community business, employer partners, and community organizations.Monitor and train on critical program implementation components, including case management, automated systems to monitor client outcomes, and approaches to support clients while in pre- and post-employment.You will oversee the ORCA program we have in partnership with King County and other community-based programs.Who should applyA Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in social work, health or social science, public administration or related field; AND at least three years of paid, professional-level managerial experience in the service delivery field either in program or line management and/or equivalent years of work experience.Equivalent professional experience will substitute year-for-year for required education.Preferred knowledge, skills, and abilities:Demonstrated experience working with E-JAS, ACES, ACES on-line, Barcode, FORS, and Vital Records through DOH.Experience administering DSHS programs/services. Ability to interpret statutes, rules, regulations and statewide operational policies.Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, including the ability to craft effective documents and presentations.Willingness to travel as necessary to ensure the success and expansion of the program.Ability to interpret program policy and convey it to program users, stakeholders, and the public.Demonstrated ability to present to a variety of audiences.Ability to assess, plan and implement organizational effectiveness for short-term and long-term strategic goals.Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with peers, subordinates, elected officials, stakeholders, media, and the public.Demonstrated experience leading teams to successful outcomes.Direct knowledge of public assistance policies and procedures.Demonstrated ability to organize and facilitate and focus groups.Must be current on all CSD trainings.Working knowledge of Union Management basic agreements, laws, rules and regulations governing public welfare, affirmative action and equal opportunity.Ability to use independent judgment to analyze, prioritize and make critical decisions in a high-volume, results-oriented environment where outcomes are under scrutiny by the Legislature and public.Knowledge of management principles, strategic planning, budget development, and fiscal accountability.To Apply:A current, chronological resumeCover letter explaining how your knowledge, skills, and abilities qualify you for this rolePlease list three professional references with updated contact information on your application
