Role And ResponsibilitiesAs a key leader, you will play a vital role in guiding and shaping our organization’s fundraising strategies. Your primary responsibilities will include:Leadership and Strategic Planning

Provide visionary leadership in collaboration with organizational leaders to develop effective strategies, policies, and initiatives for fundraising.

Work closely with the CEO, board members, and external partners to create and implement successful fundraising projects, including major and planned gifts, and contributions to our Sustainability Fund.

Direct and support the efforts of the CEO, board members, volunteers, and development staff in identifying and engaging major donors from corporate, foundation, and individual sectors.

Fundraising Strategy and Execution

Develop strategies to secure unrestricted operating funds and ensure alignment with our strategic priorities.

Lead research and analysis to uncover funding trends and cultivate relationships with donors, recommending effective solicitation strategies.

Manage all aspects of fundraising efforts, including foundation grants, individual and corporate donations, and special events.

Oversee the planning and execution of capital and comprehensive campaigns.

Donor Management and Reporting

Oversee the development and coordination of annual fundraising initiatives, ensuring efficient expenditure control and accurate donor records.

Supervise the creation and maintenance of a comprehensive donor database and ensure effective online giving platforms.

Work with the Chief Marketing Officer to develop a strategic communications plan to promote major events and initiatives.

Board Engagement and Development

Collaborate with the CEO to encourage and coordinate board member contributions, including personal gifts and “give/get” initiatives.

Support the Board Development Committee in creating and executing fundraising strategies and managing ad hoc development committees.

Assist in planning board activities, including orientations and retreats, and provide accurate financial information to the Finance Committee.

Budget and Department Management

Develop and manage department budgets, ensuring adherence to budget guidelines.

Lead, mentor, and evaluate a team of six development professionals, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment.

Performance and Conduct

Uphold confidentiality and professional boundaries, maintaining a safe and supportive environment for all stakeholders.

Adhere to organizational values and ethical standards.

Customer Service and Communication

Promote a positive image of our programs and collaborate effectively with team members.

Respond promptly to client and peer needs, and provide timely information to stakeholders.

Qualifications/Competencies

Over 10 years of experience in nonprofit organizations, with at least 5 years of successful team leadership.

Proven success in fundraising, including managing large-scale gifts and campaigns.

Demonstrated ability to plan, budget, and manage staff effectively.

Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with experience in public speaking and presentations.

Strong organizational and adaptive skills, with the ability to influence and engage diverse stakeholders.
