The SFPUC is expanding access to clean energy for all San Franciscans through its CleanPowerSF and Hetch Hetchy Power programs. We currently serve about 70% of the electricity demand in San Francisco and we are looking for an entry-level public relations professional to assist with information and education materials, customer and stakeholder community engagement and outreach, and the development of creative content for a variety of digital and print platforms.Project name:

Power Customer Programs Marketing and CommunicationsSFPUC Communications provides ongoing communications, marketing, and outreach support to the agency's clean energy programs -- CleanPowerSF and Hetch Hetchy Power. The 1310 Public Relations Assistant will support on several marketing and communications projects focused on new and existing customer programs offered to CleanPowerSF and Hetch Hetchy Power customers, including programs that address affordability and accelerate electrification of transportation and buildings to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.Essential Functions:Marketing and Customer Communications: Assist with the marketing and communications of new and existing customer programs offered to CleanPowerSF and Hetch Hetchy Power customers; support the execution of monthly and annually required customer communications and mailings.Community Events: Participate in local community events such as neighborhood fairs, festivals, movie screenings, receptions, corporate events, school events, and neighborhood group presentations; assist with logistics, scheduling, materials, and staffing.Customer Engagement and Outreach: Support on executing customer-focused events, including town halls and other events; assist with communications needs related to customer-focused events and outreach, including developing and managing materials, ensuring language access, and providing advance notification to customers about events.Website Management: Assist with making updates to webpages and executing a content strategy for CleanPowerSF.org and Power content on SFPUC.gov.Content Creation: Help develop compelling and creative content for social media, e-newsletters, marketing collateral, website pages, and other Power Enterprise communications.Records and Inventory Management: Update and organize the team's electronic files on Sharepoint, Shared and Public Drives, etc.; inventory printed materials and reorder as necessary.Racial Equity: Support implementation of the SFPUC's Racial Equity Action Plan, attend internal racial equity meetings, and integrate equity into all Power communications projects.1310 performs other related duties as required.QualificationsEducation:

Possession of a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university.Substitution:

Experience in public relations, public affairs, public information, editorial, newspaper, magazine, radio, television, social media, digital engagement, advertising, marketing or similar work directly responsible for the preparation, and/or dissemination of news and information in a variety of formats for internal and external communications may be substituted for the required degree on a year-for-year basis. Thirty (30) semester units or forty-five (45) quarter units equal one year.Desirable Qualifications:
