The Interventional Radiologist Physician will be responsible for delivering high-quality direct patient care, estimated at 90-95% of their time. You will involve performing a variety of interventional radiology procedures in accordance with VA standards. The position requires proficiency in clinical care, patient safety, and consultation with referring physicians to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Perform interventional radiology procedures, including but not limited to:

AngiographyCryoablationBalloon angioplasty and stent placementLine insertionChemoembolizationIVC filtersVertebroplasty/KyphoplastyNephrostomy placementDialysis access & related interventionsTIPS placementEmbolizationRadiofrequency ablationEndovenous laser ablation of varicose veinsAnd other related procedures

Be physically present for scheduled clinic times and ensure timely patient care according to VA guidelines.Provide consultation and guidance to referring physicians for appropriate procedural indications.Conduct post-procedure evaluations and provide clinical consultation on complications.Maintain medication protocols and ensure no sample medications are distributed to patients.Provide discharge education and follow-up instructions for emergency department patients.Participate in continuous quality improvement activities, including peer reviews and committee participation (4 hours/month).Ensure adherence to patient safety, infection control standards, and prevent patient injury.Review consults and patient cases daily for a minimum of two hours.WHAT YOUR'LL BRING:

Must demonstrate proficiency in all skills necessary for interventional radiology.Must be fluent in speaking, understanding, reading, and writing in English.Must provide documentation verifying ongoing competency, certification, licensure, and training.Must abide by the VA Facility's Medical Staff By-Laws, rules, and regulations.Licensing Requirements:

Must hold an unrestricted medical license to practice in any U.S. state, territory, or the District of Columbia.Physicians with previously restricted, suspended, or revoked licenses will not be considered.Board Certification:

Must be Board Certified by the American Board of Radiology.Continuing education and certification must be maintained and up to date.Annual documentation of certification is required.Hours of Operation:

Clinic hours: Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM EST.On-call coverage required after clinic hours (4:30 PM - 8:00 AM), weekends, and holidays (24-hour availability).Must be available by phone within 15 minutes and on-site within 60 minutes when on-call.Off-hours and annual leave coverage is required with a 10-day notification for planned leave.On-Call Responsibilities:

Must provide phone consultation with VA residents and physicians.Must be available for on-site duties within specified response times.
