Virtu is seeking an experienced and board-certified Interventional Radiologist to provide comprehensive care at the Atlanta VA Medical Center. The position requires a focus on direct patient care, with 90-95% of the time spent performing interventional radiology procedures. The selected candidate will play a critical role in enhancing patient care through the performance of minimally invasive, image-guided procedures.Key Responsibilities:Perform a variety of interventional radiology procedures including, but not limited to:AngiographyCryoablationBalloon angioplasty/stent placementLine insertion, chemoembolization, and IVC filtersVertebroplasty/KyphoplastyThrombolysis, dialysis access, and related interventionsBiopsies, TIPS placement, and biliary interventionsProvide timely patient care, adhering to VA regulations on clinic wait times and consult completion.Offer consultation and guidance to referring physicians, determining the appropriate course of treatment.Conduct post-procedure evaluations, follow-ups, and clinical consultations for complications.Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives and peer reviews.Ensure adherence to patient safety and infection control standards.Participate in after-hours on-call duties, responding within 15 minutes by phone and within 60 minutes on-site.Technical Proficiency:Must possess technical proficiency in interventional radiology procedures.Fluency in English (speaking, reading, and writing) is required.Ability to provide verifiable evidence of educational and training experiences upon request.License and Certification Requirements:Possess a current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in any U.S. State, Territory, or the District of Columbia.Board Certification from the American Board of Radiology is required.
