Serves as a personal contact for physicians, staff, and outside departments in order to address problems, issues or concerns that require attention. Assists in management of clinical unit operations. Reports to the Clinic Manager of the Department. This position supervises clinical staff, which may include Support Coordinators, Medical Assistants, and LVNs. Must adopt Keck Service Credo and Known Service Standards and Values. Must be comfortable with computers and medical terminology.Essential Duties:Serves as Back Office Clinical Supervisor. Supervises at least two full-time staff or the equivalent, coordinates personnel actions, including, but not limited to performance evaluations, time-off requests, staff disciplinary actions, hiring, and terminating staff.Acts as liaison between supervisor and his/her subordinates for communicating information, assignments, priorities and special requests. Monitors status of pending items and follows-up, as needed.Promotes effective communication and working relationships between staff, providers, and departments. Communicates information, assignments, priorities, and special requests to staff. Manages workload of staff.Assist in hiring, training, coaching and evaluating staff to ensure a well-qualified team and enhance operational success of the department.Implements and ensures compliance with hospital/university policies and procedures as it relates to Safety, Infection Control, Human Resources, HIPAA, Employee Health, Information Systems, etc.Generates Daily Room/Staff Assignments. Arranges for staff coverage as needed.Coordinates staffing to ensure breaks and meal periods are covered. Provides coverage as needed.Trains all clinical staff to ensure compliance with Ambulatory policies.Ensures that exam rooms and treatment areas are supplied and maintained adequately by support personnel.Promotes security by alerting appropriate personnel for safety, fire and other unsafe situations. Reports any unusual occurrences to supervisor. Responds to emergency situations using standard emergency protocols and procedures.Restock supplies and equipment used in work area, inventory and maintain adequate supplies in the clinic.May provide other administrative/analytical work as requested.Performs other duties as assigned.Required Qualifications:High School or equivalentSpecialized/technical training Graduate from an accredited school of Medical Assistant Certificate/Diploma program.2-5 years Lead or Supervisory experience.Organization/time management skills.Demonstrates ability to utilize effective, appropriate and diplomatic oral and written communication skills.Must be comfortable with computers and medical terminology.Must adopt Keck Service Credo and Known Service Standards and Values.Prepares patients for examination. Obtains and records vital signs.Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in a related field2-5 years Ambulatory clinic management experienceMust have in-depth knowledge of all insurance types, including government health programs preferred.Required Licenses/Certifications:Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire and maintained by renewal before expiration date. (Required within LA City only)Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider from American Heart Association.The annual base salary range for this position is $60,320.00 - $94,020.00.
