Director, Revenue Cycle Management

POSITION SUMMARY :

This position is responsible for day-to-day revenue cycle operations and the planning, development, and implementation of policies, objectives, and initiatives within FastMed. This position will provide analytical analysis, create written processes and provide leadership to revenue cycle team. The Director will be instrumental in engaging internal and external stakeholders and strategizing processes and workflow priorities to attain a high level of quality outcomes.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide strategic direction for the revenue cycle function of the organization. Communicate organizational priorities, monitor and adjust work assignments, recommend and implement process changes that lead to successful revenue cycle outcomes.

Oversee and manage entire revenue cycle including patient access, billing, coding, collections, and denial management; develop and implement strategies to optimize revenue cycle performance, reduce denials, and improve cash flow.

Recommend and implement operational changes that will improve service, productivity, quality and/or financial performance of the organization.

Develop, track and analyze performance metrics related to provider revenue cycle and shares data with ELT to drive improvement.

Ensure compliance with relevant billing and coding regulations set by federal and state governmental agencies and industry standards. Stay updated with changes in regulations and implement necessary modifications to billing practice.

Monitors and analyzes revenue cycle metrics to identify trends and opportunities. Initiates and implements processes and training to reduce denials and monitors performance to ensure complete resolution.

Spearhead contract negotiations with payor sources (i.e. federal health care programs and Third-Party).

Responsible for the effective management and leadership of a team. This includes, but is not limited to: hiring, training, coaching, evaluating and managing performance, allocating compensation, effectively handling employee relations issues, managing terminations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Managing Processes, Financial Software, Developing Standards, Audit, Accounting, Corporate Finance, Tracking Budget Expenses, Financial Skills, Analyzing Information, Developing Budgets, Performance Management

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance and/or Accounting

Master's degree preferred (MHA or MBA)

Minimum of 8 years in healthcare billing and/or coding management

At least 5 years prior leadership in similar role

Certification in Revenue Cycle Management a plus

Skills:

Experience tracking and reporting productivity

Strong data analysis and process improvement skills

Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities

Excellent communication and leadership skills

While performing the essential functions of the job the employee may encounter patients in a wide variety of circumstances. The employee may be exposed to situations including accidents, injuries, illnesses, patient elements and varying or unpredictable situations.

MANAGERIAL DEMANDS:

While performing the essential functions of the job, the team member will be required to be available during work hours, as well as before and after work hours and on weekends, to answer calls and concerns. Regular checking of FastMed email is required.
